It was reported a few days ago that Andrew Luck would be rejoining his team on the practice field this week. Ian Rapport with the NFL Network reported on Sunday that he talked with a few people involved with the situation that the hope was for Andrew Luck to return to practice this week assuming that he got cleared by the medical staff. But Head Coach Chuck Pagano told reporters on Wednesday that Luck is still a few days away from being able to practice.
“He will not practice this week,” Pagano said. “He’s still a week away as far as his throwing progression and things like that. So we’ll keep him out of practice this week and hopefully integrate him back in next week.”
It’s also worth noting that Pagano assured the media that nothing new had happened to Luck, he just wasn’t ready.
“He’s doing great. Nothing’s changed,” Pagano said. “We were hopeful, and it didn’t work out.”
The Colts are trying to be cautious with Luck and not rush him back. The hope is for him to be on the practice field next week. Until then, patience remains the key for the Colts organization.
