After losing two games in a row to Washington and Miami, the 76ers went into Cleveland and showed the Cavs fans just what the Ben and JoJo show was all about. The result was an impressive 108-97 win on the road against a top NBA team in the King James led Cavaliers, beating them for the first time in three years.
This win is a clear message to the rest of the Eastern Conference that the Sixers are a team that is not only maturing, but could be a force down the stretch and in the playoffs. NBA MVP candidate Joel Embiid had a mortal performance with 17 points and 14 rebounds, and top Rookie Of The Year candidate Ben Simmons added 18 points to go with 8 assists to help the Sixers overcome James’ 30 points, 8 assists and 9 rebounds. J.J, Reddick paced the Sixers with 22 points, including 4 for 7 from the 3 point line.
Now that the Sixers have answered the question of how they would handle adversity by beating an elite team on the road, buckle up because this is looking like it’s going to be a fun ride down the stretch.
